Mass Food Distribution
Working with the San Diego Food Bank, the Center distributes free food to low-income individuals and families on the Thursday before the Second Friday of each month between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. This happens at the Center in the driveway. Persons are encouraged to park off-site and walk to the distribution location at the Center. No identification is required for this; however, every person will be required to complete a self-verification of need form from the San Diego Food Bank.
From the generosity of the local Grocery Outlet, the Center provides a pantry in its main office (located at the back of the property at 455 Palm Avenue) Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to Noon to those in need. No identification is required to receive food.
The Center currently has seven (7) raised garden beds available for community members to grow vegetables. Assistance is available as needed by the Master Gardeners’ program.
Periodic free courses are offered to the community on preparing healthy meals.
